William P. Simmons

William P. “Bill” Simmons, 75, of Milford, and formerly of Upton, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2022, in the Milford Regional Medical Center.  He was the beloved husband to Cheryl A. (Griffith) Simmons.

Born in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late William and Anna (Goulet) Simmons, and was raised and educated in Milford.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Simmons was employed as a fork lift operator for Miscoe Springs for 30 years.

Bill had a passion for owning horses and everything that came with it.  He also enjoyed, camping, boating, watching the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael Simmons of Milford, Darlene Ahern of Uxbridge, and John Simmons of Milford; his cherished granddaughter, Kayla Ahern of Uxbridge; his siblings Lester Simmons and his wife Lisa, of Milford, Larry Simmons and his wife Brenda of Winchendon, and George Simmons and his wife Sharon, of Blackstone; a sister-in-law, Barbara Simmons of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.  He also leaves his beloved dog Zoe, and grand dog Jelly.

He is predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Robert Simmons.

His graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 15, in Maplewood Cemetery, Maple Ave. Upton.

A calling hour will be held prior to the graveside service from 9:45 AM to 11:15 AM, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main St. Upton.
