Theodore Fowler

Theodore Fowler, 97, passed away on September 26, 2008 in Florida. He was the husband of Barbara D. (Allen) Fowler, who died in 2005 after 73 years of marriage.

Mr. Fowler was born August 7, 1911 in Whitinsville, MA, the son of the late Frank J. and Geraldine (Marshall) Fowler. He grew up there attending Whitinsville public schools. He was a resident of Upton for 60 years before moving to Florida in 1992.

Mr. Fowler was a carpenter and woodworker by trade, owning his own business and also working for Whitin Machine Works. He often made the hat forms for the old Upton Hat Factory. An avid outdoorsman who loved nature, he traveled extensively around the country with his wife during their retirement. He was also an avid shuffleboard player who won many trophies over the years.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Fowler and his wife Joyce of Barnstable, and Glenn Fowler and his wife Eva of Upton; six grandchildren, Sherri Nagle and her husband Richard of Boxford, Kevin Fowler and his wife Mary of Shrewsbury, Wendy Dicmack and her husband Charles of Marlboro, Tye Fowler and his wife Angela of Uxbridge, Timothy Fowler of San Jose, CA, and Tania Zieja and her husband Nicholas of Belmont; eight great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Sara Nagle of Boxford, David, Debora, Abigail and Madeline Fowler of Shrewsbury, Joseph Fowler of Uxbridge and Reese Dicmack of Marlboro; four step-grandchildren, Kellie O'Connor of Plymouth, Kimberly Forbes of Hyannis, Michael Cormier of Upton, and Michelle Goodwin and her husband Michael of Upton; and three step-great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Stanley, and Stacey Goodwin of Upton. He is also survived by one brother, Wilfred Fowler of Upton.

He was pre-deceased by a sister, Phyllis Pirie; and three brothers, Frank, Gerald, and Earl Fowler.

Service Details

A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 3 p.m.
in the funeral home with the Rev. Cynthia Frado officiating.

A calling hour in the funeral home will immediately precede the service from 2 to 3 p.m.
