Steven P. Smith, 54, of Upton, died Sunday morning, November 12, in the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, where he had been a patient since being critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Webster on October 8. He was a self-employed masonry contractor, operating Smith Masonry of Upton for over 25 years.
Born in Natick, Mr. Smith was the son of Frederick and Jeannine (Capistran) Smith of Upton. He was a member of the Nipmuc Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed all outdoor activities, including boating, camping, hunting, fishing, golfing, motorcycling, and four-wheeling. He loved his family and friends and often participated in benefit motorcycle rides to support others.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his wife, Pamela (Rockwell) Smith, one son, Steven Smith, Jr., and two daughters, Rachael and Rebecca Smith, all of Upton; two brothers, Frederick Smith and his wife Janis of Grafton and John Smith and his wife Katie of Westerly, RI; two sisters, Nancy Durbano and her husband Tony of Mendon and Doreen Smith-McAuliffe and her husband Michael of Upton; one grandchild, Shane Smith of Upton; and ten nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that, if desired, memorial donations be made to the Smith Scholarship Fund, c/o UniBank for Savings, 113 Main Street, Upton, MA 01568.

Funeral services Saturday, November 18, from the funeral home, with a
funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Milford Street, Upton.
Following cremation, burial will take place at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
