"No one plans his own destiny, the best we can do is to hit what's pitched." SRB
Steven Redbeard was an ExtraOrdinary Man. He was first and foremost a learner and a teacher. He shared his whole person with everyone he encountered - family, friends, children, those who walked high, low and all in between. He met everyone where they were and brought them higher.
Steven was the son of Connie and Herbert Goodman and the Grandson of Tessie and Lester Robins, who taught him to be a thinker and a man of compassion. He will be missed immeasurably by many, but most profoundly by his wife Judith Katz, his son-in-law Terry G. Lorber, his grandsons - Eli and Leo, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Donna Katz and their children, and his dearly beloved daughter, Lara Miranda Goodman.
Steven was "The Professor" of Literature, Shakespeare particularly, a Gold Life Master Bridge Player, a dog whisperer, an oenophile, a theologian, a lover, a traveler, a hippie, a seeker of beauty, a magic trick doer and the best father that ever could be. He was a warm and gentle presence, a listener for the ages, and very funny, especially for the fun-hearted, those he had the magic to locate any place, anytime.
He died peacefully, at home, surrounded by good friends and his family.
