Sheila A. Mall

July 14, 1953 — April 2, 2024

UPTON

Sheila Mall, 70, a resident of Upton and formerly of Westborough, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday April 2, 2024, surrounded by her daughter, husband and grandchildren after fighting a long illness.

Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Agnes (Roper) and Gilbert Mall.  She was the oldest of 7 children, raised in Northborough, where she graduated Algonquin Regional High School. She then received her LPN through an accelerated program at Assabet Valley.

Prior to retiring in 2010 she was an LPN at Westboro State Hospital for 37 years.  She was known by her patients and coworkers as a dedicated, compassionate and respectful nurse. She made many lifelong friendships while working there.  On Tuesday, her day off you could find Sheila at Town & Country Bowling in Shrewsbury for 20+ years.

If you went to visit Sheila you would usually find her crocheting her blankets which she gave to everyone she considered a part of her family which was many or watching the Game Show Network unless it was time for General Hospital. She always had candles burning, snacks for everyone, the heat turned up and a big smile to greet you.  Sheila was very proud of her Irish heritage. Sheila always enjoyed music, especially her grandson singing. Sheila loved Christmas, she had a gift for everyone that came to her Christmas parties that she loved to host, she enjoyed decorating the house with her grandchildren as they grew up, especially the tinsel that you could always find on her tree along with an ornament for everyone in her family.  Everyone who met her knew she was a kind soul, very stubborn and independent, gave all she had to those she loved. Most of all Sheila loved being a nana to her three grandchildren who she adored more than anything in this world.

Sheila is survived by her only daughter Suzanne Lamontagne, her grandchildren Trey, Eva, and Cecilia, her 6 siblings, many nieces and nephews, and her husband of 40 years Ed.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 P.M. on Saturday, April 6, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton.  A time of remembrance will take place at 4 P.M.
