Sarah “Sally†F. Lynch, 90, of Whitinsville, MA, formerly of Shrewsbury and Framingham, passed quietly on October 27th surrounded by her children. She was preceded by her husband of 67 years, Edward F. Lynch, whom she missed and loved deeply, as well as her granddaughter, our angel, Colette Sullivan.
Sally attended schools in Longmeadow and Brookline, eventually settling in Framingham, where she lived for over thirty –five years. She was a regular communicant at St. Georges Church in Framingham, and in her later years at St Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury.
Sally’s greatest accomplishment in life was her family, and she never had a problem telling people about her nine children and all of their accomplishments. Her pride as a mother of nine grew even bigger, as she became a grandmother of twenty-three, and most recently a great-grandmother of eight.
Sally’s zest and love of life drew people to her. You never left Sally without a smile, a laugh and feeling like you just met someone special. She never strived to accumulate anything in her life beyond friendships. She adored being surrounded with people and they loved being around her. Her contagious personality and love of laughter was infectious. Her heart was huge, loving, playful and thoughtful; she helped care for anyone who needed comfort.
She was very involved in the Framingham community, working the polls, volunteering in the schools, or at church. Sally was always around to help no matter what the cause was. In her later years, she spent much of her time enjoying the activities of her grandchildren, spectating all of the sports, dances, musicals, and church events. Her support never wavered, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She will be forever cherished in the lives of her children; Christopher of Medway, MA (Susan), Colette Rooney of Upton, MA (Michael), Edward Lynch, of Medford, MA (Kathleen), Richard Lynch of Upton, MA (Kathleen), Catherine Sullivan of Shrewsbury, MA. (Dennis), Robert Lynch of Hopedale, MA (Lisa), Nancy Publicover of Columbia, SC (Jeffrey), William Lynch of Mattapoisett, MA (Maria), and Daniel Lynch of Northbridge, MA.
Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday, November 4, in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 151 Mendon Street, Upton. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Framingham.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 PM in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Upton.
