Sally J. (Perkins) Dupre, 70, a lifelong Upton resident passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ovarian cancer on Friday, December 27, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife of 44 years to Richard E. Dupre.
Born in Framingham, she was a daughter of the late Ashley M. and Elinor A. (Hall) Perkins. She was raised and educated in Upton. Sally graduated from Nipmuc Regional High School and went on to receive her certificate from Salter Secretarial School. Sally worked her entire career in the Town of Upton, first at the former Knowlton Hat Factory, then as a waitress at the former Pine Ridge Country Club. She then worked as accountant and assistant for Shirley Lambert Realty and Lambert Auto Sales and Garage. Sally worked the last 20 years of her career as an administrative assistant at Blackstone Valley Vocational Technical High School, retiring in 2009.
Sally was an active parishioner at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish and the former Holy Angels Church in Upton. She was a member of the Upton Bloomer Girls for over 40 years and a member of the Upton Historical Society.
She enjoyed spending parts of every summer of her life at Roy Carpenter’s Beach in South Kingstown, RI, first at her parent’s cottage and then at her and Rich’s cottage. Sally and Rich also enjoyed many Florida vacations with her sister Judy, who introduced them to Anna Maria Island, and the Dupre family trips to Disney World. Sally was an avid walker and shopper; she could always find anything that someone was looking for.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Angela L. Adams of Grafton and Sandy J. Brochu and her husband Rob, of Whitinsville; four grandchildren, Kayla M. Weld, Alicia L. Weld, Brianna A. Adams, and Ryan R. Brochu; three siblings, Bob Perkins and his wife Ann, of Upton, Nancy Leclaire of Upton, and Judy Rooks of Clearwater, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, December 31, in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 151 Mendon St., Upton. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.
Calling hours are from 3 to 7 PM on Monday, December 30, in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, Inc., 45 Main St., Upton.
