Ruth P. (Quist) Grillo, 79, of Yuma, Arizona, and formerly of Upton, died early Monday, September 15, 2008 in Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital after an illness. She was the widow of Albert G. Grillo, who died in 1999 after 32 years of marriage.
Mrs. Grillo was born in Uxbridge on November 23, 1928, a daughter of the late Paul and Rosanna (Robinson) Quist. She graduated with highest honors from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester and worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Western Carriers in Worcester and Western Geo Physical in Westboro before retiring in 2005. She moved to Yuma from Upton about two years ago. A faithful communicant of Holy Angels Parish in Upton, she was active in the Women's Guild and served the parish as a Eucharistic Minister. She also volunteered her time assisting the elderly with filing their tax returns.
She leaves her daughter, Diane Grillo Brennan and her husband Paul E. Brennan of Sutton; two stepdaughters, Eileen Beringer of Auburn and Patricia Grillo of Attleboro; six grandchildren, Emily and Susan Brennan, Thomas and Kristin Beringer, Melissa Corbin, and Corey George; a great-granddaughter, Amelia Corbin; and her siblings, Paul Quist of VA, Jean Long, Rebecca Quist, and Martha Laprade of AZ, Robert Quist of Uxbridge, and Patricia Briere of KY.

Service Details
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 19
from the funeral Home at 45 Main Street, Upton,
with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Milford St., Upton.
Following cremation, burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
