Russell Gerard Massey, 62, of South Grafton, died Monday, December 20, 2010 in the St. Francis Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Worcester after an illness. He was the beloved son of Phyllis P. (Peters) Massey of Upton.
Mr. Massey was born in Worcester, a son of the late Gerard E. Massey. He attended Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester State College, and Nichols College, and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to South Grafton about twelve years ago. A custodian for the Grafton Public Schools for the past ten years, he also worked part-time in the deli department at Stop & Shop in Grafton. He had previously worked for Prime Computer for several years. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed hunting and other outdoor activities.
In addition to his mother, he leaves a sister-in-law, Jeanne Sterling of Marlboro; a nephew, Mark Massey of Texas; one niece, Michelle Donaldson and her children Hailey and Adam, all of Worcester; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was also the brother of the late Mark Massey, who died in 1975, and Charles Massey, who died in 1988.

Calling hours at the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home
were Thursday, December 23, 2010.
Following cremation, a memorial Mass will be celebrated
in Holy Angels Church, 1 Milford Street, Upton
at 10 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2011.
Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Northbridge.
