Active in town government, he was the chairman of Upton's first Personnel Board, served as Upton's representative to the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission and the State Community Service Welfare Board, and had been a member of the Upton Cemetery Commission, Director of Veterans' Graves, and an Election Warden in Upton for over 20 years.

He was a member and Past Master of Franklin Lodge of Masons in Grafton, a Past Commander of Milford Commandery #11 Knights Templar, and a member of the Aleppo Temple Shriners, Milford Council of Royal and Select Masons, and Mt. Lebanon Chapter Royal Arch Masons. He was also a Past Patron of the former Columbian Chapter OES in Upton and Rachel Chapter OES in Grafton, and Past Dad Advisor for Whitinsville Assembly of Rainbow Girls for many years.

He leaves one son, Richard N. Randall of Upton; a daughter, Marlene E. MacNeil and her husband James of Bellingham; one brother, Gordon H. Randall of Upton; two sisters, Dorothy L. Fairbanks of Natick; five grandchildren, Diane Wright and her husband James of Douglas, Richard Randall and his wife Julie of Northbridge, Robert Randall and his wife Allison of Clayton, NC, and Margie and Mark MacNeil of Blackstone; and eight great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Norman Randall, who was killed in action with the US Navy in the South Pacific during WWII, and Lois Stockman.
