Richard S. Kelly

Richard S. Kelly, 98, a long-time Upton businessman, died Friday, October 4, 2013 in Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. His wife, Kathleen A. (Gray) Kelly died in 1999.
Mr. Kelly was born in Clear Lake, WA, a son of the late James E. and Mary Ellen (Gaffney) Kelly, and had lived in Upton since 1936. A self-employed farmer, he and his wife operated the Kelly Farm Stand, which was established by his parents in 1936, and which continues to be family run. He was a communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish and was a Registrar of Voters for the Town of Upton for many years.
He leaves one daughter, Kathleen Zamagni and her husband William, Jr., of Putnam, CT; two sons, Richard B. Kelly and his companion Jacqueline Frassica of Upton and FL, and William J. Kelly of Upton; 6 grandchildren, Sarah Kelly of Boston, Jason Zamagni of Midlothian, VA, Mary Ellen Allard of Upton, Matthew Zamagni of Pomfret, CT, Richard Kelly of Northbridge, and Elizabeth Kelly of Brooklyn, NY; and 4 great-grandsons, Benjamin Kelly, Luke Zamagni, Ian Kelly, and Roman Lang. He was also the brother of the late James and Robert Kelly and Mary Lukko.
If desired, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the St. Gabriel the Archangel Building Fund, 151 Mendon St., Upton 01568.

Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
