Richard W. George

Richard W. George, 72, of Upton, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, after a brief illness.

Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Theodore and Victoria (Grebenstein) George, and was raised and educated in Upton. He graduated from Nipmuc Regional High School in the class of 1971. After high school he then attended Graham Jr College.

Prior to retirement, Mr. George was employed as a land surveyor for Guerriere & Halnon and Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc.

Richard enjoyed riding his motorcycle, skiing, spending time on Wildwood Lake in Upton and Camping in Maine with his family and friends.

He is survived by his two children, Melissa Corbin and her husband James of Upton and Corey George and his wife Randi Blake of Auburn; four grandchildren, Amelia, Cole, Charlotte, and William; two sisters, Leona Miller of Douglas and Lucinda Pond of Upton; and his nieces.

His funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, November 8, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. on Thursday, November 7, in the funeral home.
