UPTON - Raymond E. McAuley, 81, of Upton and formerly of Hopkinton, died Friday evening, March 3, 2006, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after a long illness.
Mr. McAuley was born in Boston, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Kinsella) McAuley. He was a World War II Army veteran who served under Gen. Patton and saw action in Northern France with the 532nd Ordnance Battalion. He worked in manufacturing packaging at Thermo Electronics in Franklin for several years before retiring about 15 years ago and had lived in Upton with his daughter Debra Comisky and her husband Dan since 1990. He was especially proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed a close circle of friends at the Rose Garden in Upton.
In addition to his daughter in Upton, he leaves five other children, Linda Matton of FL, Jerry McAuley of Bridgewater, VA, David McAuley and his wife Lynn of VA, Larry McAuley of Deerfield, VA, and Lori Dameron and her husband Travis of Stuarts Draft, VA; seven grandchildren, Christopher Nordstrom of Marlboro, Dawn Lague and Krystal McAuley of VA, Timothy and Lori-Ann Comisky of Upton, and Matthew and Tyler Dameron of Stuarts Draft; and two great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Mikayla.

Funeral services Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 11 a.m.
in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton.
Burial with military honors in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 6 to 9 p.m.
