Raymond R. Ferschke, Sr., 59, of Uxbridge, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, in Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after a short illness. He was the husband of Eleonore (Hlatky) Ferschke, with whom he would have celebrated their 40th anniversary in October.
Mr. Ferschke was born in Woonsocket, RI, a son of Theresa (Raymond) Ferschke of East Douglas and the late Roland Ferschke. He grew up in East Douglas and had served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era. He lived in Upton for many years before coming to Uxbridge about 17 years ago.
A heavy equipment mechanic, he worked for Consigli Construction Company until injured on the job in 1986. He had previously worked many years at the Town Line Dairy and for Thompson Oil Co. and Thompson Bus Co., all in Upton. He enjoyed being a "jack of all trades" and was known as "Dr. Fix-it" among family and friends.
He was a member of the George L. Wood VFW Post and a communicant of Holy Angels Parish, both in Upton.
In addition to his wife and mother; he leaves one son, Raymond R. Ferschke, Jr. of Upton; three brothers, Richard Ferschke of Bradenton, FL, Ronald Ferschke of Dudley, and Roland Ferschke of Uxbridge; and two grandchildren. He was also the father of the late Brian P. Ferschke, who died in 1986, and Michael D. Ferschke, who died in 1996. Another brother, Roger Ferschke of NH died in 2002.

Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.
