Phyllis P. (Peters) Massey, 84, of Upton and formerly of Northbridge, died Thursday, November 10, 2011 in her home. She was the widow of Gerard E. Massey, who died in 1998 after 50 years of marriage.
Mrs. Massey was born in Northbridge, a daughter of the late William H. and Florence (Barber) Peters. She grew up in Upton, was a 1945 graduate of the former St. Mary's High School in Milford, and had lived in Northbridge for 47 years before returning to Upton in 1995. A devout Catholic, she was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish in Upton and was active with the Friends of Upton Elders.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her three sons: Mark, who died in 1975, Charles, who died in 1988, and Russell, who died last December. She leaves her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Stirling and her husband Daniel of Marlborough; two brothers, Robert and Burton Peters of Nevada; three sisters, Marion Ramsey of Upton, and Florence Peters and Barbara Ramsey of Arizona; two grandchildren, Mark Massey of Frisco, TX and Michelle Donaldson and her husband Sean of Worcester; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Adam Donaldson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15,
from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton,
with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church,
151 Mendon Street, Upton.
Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Northbridge.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
