Pearl V. (Oak) Soderberg, 93, a longtime Upton resident, died Thursday, July 12, 2012 in St. Camillus Health Center in Whitinsville. She was the widow of Albert H. Soderberg, who died in 1996 after 55 years of marriage.
Mrs. Soderberg was born in Leicester, a daughter of the late Anthony and Esther (Fox) Oak. She grew up in Hopedale, where she was a 1936 graduate of Hopedale High School, and had lived in Upton from 1954 until moving to Whitinsville about three years ago. A clerk at Draper Corp. in Hopedale before retiring in 1975, she had previously worked as an operator for the telephone company. She was a member of the United Parish of Upton and its Women's Fellowship and had served on the Upton Council on Aging.
She leaves two daughters, Ann Perkins and her husband Robert of Upton and Linda Grayeck of Bridgeport, CT; one son, Arvid W. Soderberg and his wife Leah of Augusta, GA; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Jean Hayward, Alda Carothers, Frank Wadsworth, and Edna Griswold; grandmother of the late Steven Grayeck and Joanna Soderberg; and great-grandmother of the late Zoe Howard.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Food Pantry at the United Parish Church, Box 382, Upton, MA 01568.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16 at 11 a.m.
in the United Parish Church, Central Square, Upton.
Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
