Patricia P. (Gilliatt) Chagnon

February 28, 1938 — April 14, 2005

Patricia P. (Gilliatt) Chagnon, 67, of Upton, died Thursday morning, April 14, in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of Richard Gentili and a retired respiratory therapist.

Ms. Chagnon was born in Marlboro, the daughter of Phyllis (Dodge) Gilliatt of Sudbury and the late Archie Gilliatt. She grew up in Marlboro, was educated in local schools, and graduated from Marlboro High School. She was a 1977 graduate of Quinsigamond Community College and worked at U Mass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for 23 years before retiring in 2000. She had lived in Upton for many years, and then in Millbury for several years before returning to Upton six years ago. She had been a member of the Millbury Baptist Church and the Millbury Woman's Club. She loved animals and gardening and was devoted to her family.

In addition to her husband and mother, she leaves three sons, Joseph Choiniere of Pahrump, Nevada, Steven Choiniere, Sr. of Bellingham, and Kenneth Choiniere of Millville; two daughters, Lauri Roque of Bessemer City, NC, and Karen Rapp of Upton; four stepsons, Jay Gentili of Upton, Steven Gentili of Rome, ME, Joseph Chagnon of Amherst, and Ronald Chagnon of Texas; two brothers, Frank Gilliatt of Marlboro and Archie Gilliatt, Jr. of Hudson; two sisters, Jean White of Athol and Pauline Clark of Franktown, Colorado; 17 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many beloved pets.

Funeral services Saturday, April 16 at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
