UPTON - Nellie T. (Warren) Gilchrist, 83, a longtime resident of Upton, died early Saturday, November 18, in St. Camillus Health Center in Northbridge after a period of declining health. She was the widow of Andrew Gilchrist, who died in 2000 after 35 years of marriage.
Mrs. Gilchrist was born in Medway, a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Richards) Warren. She was a graduate of Cony High School in Augusta, ME and had lived in Upton most of her life, where she was a communicant of Holy Angels Parish. She was an assembly worker at the former Kartiganer Hat Company in West Upton and at Valpey Fisher Corporation in Hopkinton, retiring about 20 years ago.
Mrs. Gilchrist enjoyed square dancing and, with her husband, had been a member of the Sutton Country Squares for more than 25 years.
She leaves two grandnephews, William J. Gilchrist of Upton and Robert J. Gilchrist of Mendon; and a grandniece, Kelly S. Taylor of Upton, and their families. Her sister, Mary Gilchrist, died in 1984 and her stepson, Ernest Gilchrist, died in 1992.

Funeral services Wednesday, November 22 from the funeral home with a
funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Milford Street, Upton.
Burial in Lakeview Cemetery.
Calling hours Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
