UPTON - Medora (Desrosiers) Cote, 88, of Upton, died late Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge after a brief illness. She was the widow of Ovide Cote, who died in 1987 after 45 years of marriage.
Mrs. Cote was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Zephir and Rosanna (Savard) Desrosiers. She was a stitcher at the former Knowlton and Kartiganer hat companies in West Upton for many years, retiring in 1980. She lived in Upton for most of her life and was a communicant of Holy Angels Parish. A talented seamstress, she also enjoyed the activities at Beaumont Day Health Center for the past several years.
She leaves two daughters, Paulette Phipps and her husband Tom of Upton, with whom she had lived for the past twenty years, and Rita Vega and her husband Javier of Fairview, Utah; two sons, Alan Cote of Grafton and Paul Cote and his wife Priscilla , also of Grafton; a daughter-in-law, Pat Cote of Northbridge; three sisters, Jeannette Dufresne of CT, Dee Vachon of Central Falls, RI, and Aldora Gaither of Statesville, NC; one brother, Pete Desrosiers, also of Statesville; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services Thursday, March 16, 2006 from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home
with a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Milford Street, Upton.
Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, March 15, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m.
