UPTON - Marjorie A (Whitney) Sadler, 79, of Upton, died early Monday, May 29, 2006 in her home after an illness. She was the wife of William H. Sadler.
Born in Grafton, she was the daughter of the late Daniel E. and Nora (McCarthy) Whitney. She graduated from Grafton High School in 1945 and had been a telephone operator for N. E. Telephone Co. for many years before retiring in 1989. She previously worked at Bay State Abrasives in Westboro and volunteered for many years at the former Upton Nursing Center and other nursing facilities. She was a member of the United Parish of Upton, Friends of Upton Elders, Milford Humane Society, Upton Historical Society, and had participated in the Senior Bowling League for many years.
In addition to her husband of 52 years; she leaves three daughters, Betsy Bertrand of Upton, Joan Sadler and Susan Sadler-Wise and her husband Thomas Wise, all of Oregon; a sister, Marion Wellman of Maine; two brothers, Charles Whitney of Maine and Paul Whitney of Upton; five grandchildren, William, Thomas, and Tara Bertrand, Christian Sadler, and Casey Wise; other close family, including Deb Hebert of Sutton, Jane Little of Maine, Stan Wellman of Washington, Heather Gilcris and Jon Aronson of Vermont; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Two brothers, Daniel and David Whitney, predeceased her.

At her request, there will be no calling hours.
Following cremation, a private graveside service will be held
in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
