Marion J. (Nadeau) Anderson, 91, a lifelong Upton resident, died early Monday, March 28, 2005, in Saint Vincent Hospital at the Worcester Medical Center after a brief period of declining health. She was the widow of Carl A. Anderson, who died in 2003 after 71 years of marriage.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Norwich, CT, a daughter of George F. and Mary (Mezzacasa) Nadeau. She was a 1931 graduate of Upton High School and had worked as a milliner in the West Upton hat industry until retiring in 1969.
She was a lifetime member of the Upton Historical Society and a member of the Upton Woman's Club. Her interests included her family first and foremost. She also enjoyed time at her vacation home on Cape Cod and gardening. She was an accomplished seamstress and a Boston Red Sox fan.
She leaves two sons, Robert Anderson and his wife Helen of Upton, and Richard Anderson of Lyme, CT; one daughter, Bette Jane and her husband, James R. Bates of Upton; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mary Graves, George Nadeau, and Alfred P. Nadeau.

Funeral services Thursday, March 31 at 10 a.m. in the United Parish Church, Central Square, Upton.
Burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.
