Margaret M. (Duffy) Pellerin, 90, of Upton, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, in her home after an illness. She was the widow of Joseph O. Pellerin, who died in 2011. They were married for 66 years.
Mrs. Pellerin was born in Clinton, a daughter of the late Thomas and Emma (Herrmann) Duffy. She was a 1939 graduate of Clinton High School and had lived in Upton for 33 years, then in Eustis, FL for 20 years before returning to Upton in 2008. She was a World War II Army veteran who attained the rank of Corporal with the Women's Air Corps and was a licensed solo pilot. She had worked as a linotype operator for the Clinton Colonial Press and as a hat maker for the former Kartiganer Hat Company in West Upton for several years. In retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively in their RV throughout the US and Canada. A communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, she was an avid bingo and cribbage player, and enjoyed crocheting afghans, baby blankets, and pocketbooks.
She leaves five sons, Thomas Pellerin and his wife Ngoc of Milford, Ernest Pellerin of Upton, Robert Pellerin and his wife Sharon of Upton, Andrew Pellerin and his wife Claire of Burrillville, RI, and John Pellerin of Mobile, AL; three daughters, Margaret Garza and her husband Steven of Corydon, IN, Jean Pellerin of Upton, and Rita and Paul White; two brothers, Thomas Duffy of Lemon Grove, CA and Raymond Duffy of Boylston; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mary Violet McAuliffe, Rita Duffy, and Helen Hastings.

Funeral services Wednesday, May 15, from the
Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton,
with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in
St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 151 Mendon St., Upton.
Burial with military honors will follow in
Maplewood Cemetery, Maple Ave., Upton.
Calling hours at the funeral home are prior to the Mass
on Wednesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m.
