Lynn Joyce (Chernicky) Schimp

Lynn Joyce (Chernicky) Schimp, 64, of Upton, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 2, 2012 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was the wife of 48 years to Daniel Schimp.

Born in Clarion, PA, she was the daughter of Pete and Lois (Powell) Chernicky and was educated in Immaculate Conception High School in Clarion, PA. Lynn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Framingham State College, class of 1987 with a bachelor's degree in Art History.

Lynn was a communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in Upton. She loved art and drawing, interior design, was an avid skier, loved to read, and enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She had been a resident of Upton for 11 years, previously living in Clifton Park, NY for ten years and Framingham for 22 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two children, Christopher Schimp of Upton and Trisha Dorfman of Franklin; her siblings, Robert Chernicky of Clarion, PA, Darlene Bailey of Rimersburg, PA and Keith Chernicky of Clarion, PA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Danielle, Kristie, Kyle, Julianne, Nicole, Kaitlyn and Lynn.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 6, from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 151 Mendon St., Upton at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, June 5, from 5 to 8 P.M.

Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472

Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Clarion, PA.

Funeral Mass Wednesday, June 6, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 151 Mendon St., Upton.
