Lucille L. Whitney

Lucille L. (Lapan) Whitney, 96, of Upton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation facility in Whitinsville.  She was the wife of the late Alfred F. Whitney, Jr.

Born in Upton, Lucille was a daughter of the late Harry and Nettie (Burnham) Lapan.  She was raised and educated in Upton.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Whitney was employed as a hatter for Knowlton and Kartiganer Hat Factories, and working in the Cushing Hospital sewing room in Framingham.

Lucille enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family,

She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Boyd and her husband Ronald, of Ellsworth, ME, her brother, William Lapan, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her son, Russell Whitney, and her siblings, Geraldine Lapan, Lloyd Lapan, Phyllis Fertitta, Arthur Lapan, Roland Lapan, Donald Lapan, Walter Lapan

Her graveside service at Lakeview Cemetery in Upton will take place privately with her family.
