Lois E. Laviolette

June 14, 1925 — February 7, 2021

BELLINGHAM

Lois E. Laviolette, 95, of Bellingham passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the Ballou Home in Woonsocket. She was the beloved wife of the late Jean D. Laviolette.

Born in Millville, MA, she was the daughter of the late Byron and Alice (Brummitt) Pickering. She was raised and educated in Bellingham and was a graduate of Bellingham High School. She also attended and graduated from Becker Junior College in Worcester.

Lois was an office worker at Airdale Worsted in Woonsocket and then from 1965 to 1987 was employed as a bookkeeper for the Bellingham School Department.

Lois and Jean enjoyed travels to Hawaii and Europe as well as frequent trips across New England.  Lois also spent many hours quilting, knitting, sewing and baking.

Lois is survived by two daughters, Gayle L. Robinson and her husband, Christopher, of Kennebunk, ME and Cheryl A. Correia and her husband, Richard of Attleboro and Brewster; two sisters, Doris Correia of Attleboro and Helen Maynard of Portsmouth, RI; one brother, James Brummitt of TN; two grandchildren, Kerri Robinson Groff and her husband Douglas and Kyle Robinson and his wife Yazmin Saraya; two step-grandchildren, Richard Correia, Jr. and Stacey Mello; five step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Byron Pickering, Mildred Beatty, Charles Pickering, Mae LeBlanc and William Brummitt.

A private funeral service was held and burial followed in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
