Linda R. (Bishop) May, 71 of Hudson, ME and long-time resident of Surfside Beach, SC and Upton, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
She was the beloved wife of Christopher B. May. Chris and Linda spent 56 years together. They celebrated 50 years of marriage August 12, 2021 with a trip to Alaska.
Linda was the first baby born in 1951 at Milford Hospital to the late George W. and Dorothy “Diddie” R. (Fenner) Bishop of Upton, MA. She graduated from Nipmuc High School, class of 1969. She attended David Hale Fanning for Dressmaking & Design and Horry-Georgetown Technical College for Hospitality Management where she was a proud member of the Phi-Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Linda loved watching football, attending automobile races and riding shotgun with her husband in their beloved 32 Ford Roadster to car shows. She was also a skilled seamstress, made beautiful blankets and loved crocheting. Linda had a warm smile and loved to laugh. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Linda is survived by her husband of 50 years Christopher May; her son, Christopher May and his partner Sara Nadeau of Woodruff, SC; her daughters, Jessica May and her husband Larry Jones of Hendersonville, NC; Alane May of Hudson, ME; Allison May-Chausse and her husband Maxime of Hudson, ME; her brothers George W. Bishop Jr and his wife Francis of Surfside Beach, SC; Donald Bishop and his wife Mary-Anne of Sarasota, FL; Bernard Bishop and his wife Carol of Charlestown, RI; and her sister Kimberly A. Bishop and her partner Jorg Hruschka of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; her aunt Dorothy “Dottie” Besozzi of Milford, MA; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members and loved ones.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Friday, June 24, from 2 to 6 PM at the Nipmuc Rod & Gun Club, 88 Fiske Mill Rd, Upton.
