Leo L. Morin, 74, of Upton, died Saturday evening, December 26, 2009, in his home after a long illness. He was a longtime Water/Sewer Superintendent for the Town of Upton and the husband of Mildred F. (Roche) Morin.
Mr. Morin was born in Milford, a son of the late Arthur and Lillian (McGee) Morin. He was a graduate of the former St. Mary's High School in Milford and earned professional certifications through Merrimack College. He served with the Massachusetts National Guard for eight years and had lived in Upton over 60 years. His career began with oversight of construction of Upton's first waste water treatment plant facility and he became the town's first full-time water/sewer superintendent and chief treatment plant operator. He retired in 2000 after 29 years of service to the Town, during which he was overseer of numerous water and sewer expansion and improvement projects. The town's water treatment facility was dedicated to him in recognition of his distinguished service.
A communicant of Holy Angels Parish, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Milford, and also served as a volunteer firefighter in Upton for ten years.
In addition to his wife of 23 years, he leaves one daughter, Lillian Leno and her husband Barry of Louisa, VA; three stepchildren, Michael Lupachini and his wife Angela of Upton, Marcia Sprague of Machias, ME, and Peter Lupachini, Jr. of Orlando, FL; a brother, Philip Morin of Milford; one sister, Doris Links of Ossipee, NH; two stepsisters, Rose Arronie of Cumberland, RI and Anna Todd of Milford; four grandchildren, Michael Lupachini, Jr. and Gina Lupachini of Upton, and Dale Sprague and Jeffrey Robicheau II of Machias; a great-grandson, Jeffrey Robicheau III; and good friends, Erik and Ginny Johnson of Grafton and their children Axel, Anders, and Caroline. He was also the brother of the late Francis and Arthur Morin.

Service Details
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 31, from the funeral home with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church.
Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
