Laura (LiBassi) Caron, 88, formerly of Natick, died Sunday, May 3, 2009 in Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge after a period of declining health. She was the widow of Robert E. Caron, Sr., who died in 1984.
Mrs. Caron was born in the North End of Boston, a daughter of the late Simone and Guiseppina (Ortoleva) LiBassi. She danced in vaudeville and was a dance teacher for many years in Newton and Natick. She was also a real estate broker.
She leaves two sons, Robert E. Caron, Jr. and his wife Lynne of Mendon, and Stephen D. Caron and his wife Janis of Natick; four grandchildren, Alison Clish and her husband Ted of Uxbridge, Robert Caron III and his wife Tanya of Mendon, and Laura and Claudine Caron of Arkansas; and four great-grandchildren, Paul W. Caron and Lauren, Audrey, and Danielle Clish. She is also survived by her sister, Carmela Priante of Newton Highlands, a cousin Nick Simonelli of Everett, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Paul R. Caron, and a brother, Salvatore LiBassi.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the activity fund at Lydia Taft House, 60 Quaker Highway, Uxbridge, MA 01569.
Service Details
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2009 in the funeral home, with Rev. Laurance Brault, pastor of Holy Angels Parish, officiating.
Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in South Natick.
A visiting hour at the funeral home will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday.
