Kristin (Reifsteck) Callahan, 66, of Upton, died early Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer. She was the beloved wife of Flavian J. Callahan.
Mrs. Callahan was born in Vallejo, CA, the daughter of the late John and Shirley (DeLancey) Reifsteck. She grew up in Northboro and Sudbury and was a 1965 graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury High School. She graduated from North Adams State College in 1970 and taught third-grade in the Maynard Public Schools for 8 years before leaving teaching to raise her family. More recently, she worked in quality assurance for PNC Bank, now Mellon Bank NY in Westboro, for 15 years. She had lived in Upton since 1992. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and a variety of crafts, including designing and manufacturing gemstone jewelry.
In addition to her husband of 43 years, she leaves a son, Nathan Callahan of Milford; a daughter, Amanda Callahan and her husband Peter Antalek of Worcester; and a sister, Perry Lowell Bent of Framingham. She was also the sister of the late Lincoln Bent of Naples, ME.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society NE Division, Inc., 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 15, at 4 p.m.
in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton.
Memorial calling hours in the funeral home will be
from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday prior to the service.
