John F. "Red" Bowen, 87, of Upton, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 4, 2010 in St. Francis Nursing Home in Worcester. He was the husband of Doris B. (Daubney) Bowen and had lived in Upton most of his life.
Mr. Bowen was born in Framingham and raised in Upton by Rubelle Keniston. He was a World War II Army veteran who saw action in Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge, with Battery C of the 549th Field Artillery Battalion, and was a life member of the George L. Wood V.F.W. Post 5594 in Upton. He worked for General Motors in Framingham for 32 years, retiring 25 years ago.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, he leaves two daughters, Lynne May and her husband Robert of Oakham, and Ethel Pirie and her husband Stephen of Northbridge; two brothers, Donald "Doug" Keniston of Upton and Joseph Veghte of NJ; a granddaughter, Jennifer Seward and her husband David of Northbridge; and two great-grandchildren, Alexa and Jayden Seward.

Service Details
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 9 at 10 a.m.
in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton.
Burial with military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
