James M. Melia Jr., 55, died Friday, March 22, 2013 in Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Mary A. (Urban) Melia.
In addition to his wife, James leaves two sons, James P. Melia and Michael J. Melia and one daughter, Julia M. Melia. James also leaves his father, James M. Melia; five sisters, Kathy Melia, Julia Donovan, Mary, Eileen Vincent and Nancy Cushman. One brother Steven Melia. He also leaves his step daughters April Bowden and Dawn Wormsbaker, and one granddaughter, Lucy Shaw. His mother, Jean (Daniels) Melia, preceded him in death.
James proudly served his country while in the Army's military police unit. Upon his return, James continued his desire to protect others, serving over 33 years as a security officer for the Worcester State Hospital.
He enjoyed trips to Cape Cod, especially Dennisport with his wife Mary. His interests included working on cars, riding motorcycles, working in the yard and landscaping with his father.

Funeral Home services will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2013
in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton.
Burial will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1 PM.
