Jack M. Street, 18, of Upton, died as the result of an accident at Ward Hill Ski Area in Shrewsbury on Wednesday, January 4, 2012. He was the beloved son of James H. and Tracey (Murphy) Street and a senior at Nipmuc Regional High School.
Jack was born in Newton, and was a lifelong resident of Upton. He was an avid skier, who had been skiing 30 to 40 days a year from the age of five. A gentle giant with a heart of gold, Jack loved children, making people laugh, fantasy sports, Michigan Football, being tortured by the Red Sox, and collecting baseball cards. Jack was thoughtfully opinionated and loved a good debate. He was a member of the Nipmuc Regional football and ski teams, and enjoyed working out, especially bench pressing.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his brother, Owen H. Street of Upton; his grandparents, Ann and John Street of Honeoye, NY; aunts and uncles, Judith Murphy and Marjorie Taglieri of Groveland, Kathleen Steinberg of Falmouth, Robert Murphy of Grafton, Gary and Mary Anne Murphy of Mendon, Betsy Street of Keene, NH, Kathy and Andy Cranker of Schenectady, NY, Nancy and Matt Dunbar of West Hartford, CT and Valerie Hill of Jamaica Plain; and many cousins. He was also the grandson of the late Joseph and Josephine Murphy.
If desired, memorial donations to the Mendon Upton Education Foundation, 150 North Ave., Mendon 01756, would be appreciated.
