Irene M. (Kozel) Neumann

Irene M. (Kozel) Neumann, 79, of Upton, died Sunday, October 12, 2008 in her home after a brief illness. She was the widow of Vitie Laucis, who died in 1970; George Downes, who died in 1990; and Edward Neumann, who died in 1997.
Mrs. Neumann was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Pawel and Julia (Adamonis) Kozel. She lived in Upton most of her life and then moved to California for ten years before returning to Upton ten years ago. She worked as a switchboard operator at Cushing Hospital in Framingham for many years.
She leaves five children, William Laucis of South Carolina, Judith Lavallee, James Laucis, and Kenneth Laucis, all of Upton, and Donna Jordan of Rindge, NH; a sister, Eleanor Rutkiewicz of Worcester, a brother, Tom Kozel of South Carolina; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours.
Burial in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
