Herbert L. Johnson, 82, of Upton, died early Saturday, May 19, 2012 in Beaumont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge after an illness. He was the husband of Margaret C. (Desmarais) Johnson and had lived in Upton since 1969.
Mr. Johnson was born in Westminster, VT, a son of the late Herbert V. and Eva (Dalrymple) Johnson. A 1948 graduate of Mendon High School, he was a Korean War veteran, who served 21 years with the U. S. Air Force and attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He then worked as a technician for the former New England Power Company until retiring in 1991.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he leaves two sons, Stephen Johnson of Las Cruces, NM, and Paul Johnson of Barre; one daughter, Mary Cousineau of Mendon; three brothers, Roy Johnson of Saxonville, Robert Johnson of Barnstable, and Richard Johnson of Farmington, ME; a sister, Marilyn Gould of No. Kingstown, RI; and six grandchildren.

Private graveside services with military honors
will be held in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton
at the convenience of the family.
