Hellen (Burroughs) Handfield

PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - Hellen (Burroughs) Handfield, 83, of Prescott Valley, AZ, and formerly of Upton, died Tuesday evening, March 14, 2006 at home in AZ. She was the widow of Joseph R. Handfield, who died in 2000.
Mrs. Handfield was born in South Boston, a daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Brown) Burroughs. She grew up in Northbridge and had lived in Upton for over fifty years before moving to AZ to live with her son about three years ago. She worked for the former Kartiganer Hat Company in West Upton for many years, and then was a nurse's aide at Cushing Hospital in Framingham for ten years before retiring in 1981. She was a communicant of Holy Angels Parish and a former member of the Upton Bloomer Girls.
She leaves four sons, John Handfield of Bricktown, NJ, Gerald Handfield of Prescott Valley, AZ, with whom she lived, James Handfield of North Oxford, and Robert Handfield of Millville; one daughter, Robin Mathews of Ashburn, VA; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Service Details
Following cremation, private graveside services will be held in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton at a later date.
