Grace R. (Brothers) Aldrich, 86, a longtime resident of Upton, died late Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in Beaumont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Northbridge after a period of declining health. She was the widow of Donald J. Aldrich, who died in 1996.
Mrs. Aldrich was born in Northbridge, a daughter of the late Floyd and Etta (Higgins) Brothers. She had lived in Upton since 1946 and was a cafeteria worker in the Mendon-Upton school system for several years. A communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, she was active in the church's Women's Guild and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Upton Woman's Club, Upton Bloomer Girls, and the George L. Wood VFW Auxiliary.
She leaves her daughter, Donna Aldrich of St. Johnsbury, VT; a son, Stephen Aldrich of Mesa, AZ; a daughter-in-law, Kathi Aldrich of Douglas; two brothers, Floyd Brothers of Mendon and Joseph Brothers of Uxbridge; a sister, Pauline Brothers of Uxbridge; 7 grandchildren, Tara Aldrich Beaupre of Douglas, Bruce Aldrich, Jr. of Milford, NH, Wayne Payton of North Danville, VT, Tammy Welch of Sheffield, VT, Toni Marie Glawson of Attleboro, Stephen Aldrich, Jr. of GA, and George Aldrich of Northbridge; 22 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Another son, Bruce Aldrich, Sr., died in 2011. She was also the sister of the late Alfred, Donald, and Ronald Brothers, Vivian Murray, and Viola Feddema.
The family extends deepest gratitude to the Beaumont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center family, especially the CNAs, for their care and gracious hospitality.

Service Details
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 29,
from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton,
with a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church,
151 Mendon Street, Upton.
Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, North Main Street, Upton.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday
from 4 to 7 p.m.
