Gordon L. "Pete" Stearns

Gordon L. "Pete" Stearns, 58, of Upton, died Friday, March 2 in the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester where he had been a patient since being stricken ill two weeks earlier.

Born in Milford, he was a son of the late M. Lewis and Carrie (Jefferson) Stearns and a lifelong Upton resident. He was an avid NASCAR race fan who attended races in Stafford and Thompson, CT and at his favorite track, New Hampshire Speedway in Loudon, NH. He also enjoyed going to his favorite coffee shop and talking with the regulars each day, and mowing his lawn on his tractor. He attended the United Parish of Upton and was a good cook and dear friend and brother who will be deeply missed.

He leaves one brother, Phillip H. Stearns of Upton, and two nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Upton Ambulance Fund, Box 29, Upton 01568.

Service Details

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family
in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton with the Rev. Jan Gregory-Charpentier,
pastor of United Parish of Upton, officiating.
