Gladys E. (Coleman) Hanrahan, 89, of Milford, died Thursday, September 17, 2015 in Beaumont Nursing Center in Northbridge surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Thomas J. Hanrahan, who died in 1991 after 44 years of marriage.
Mrs. Hanrahan was born in Nashua, NH, a daughter of the late Robert F. and Mary Delena (Bouley) Coleman. She grew up in Nashua, was a graduate of the Nashua High School Class of 1944, and lived in Framingham before coming to Milford in 1968. Gladys was a loving homemaker who devoted her life to raising her five children and fostering 21 babies from the Home for Little Wanderers. In later years she babysat many children who referred to her as Grammy. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish and a great sports fan for all the New England teams.
She leaves four beloved daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Michael Fitzgibbon of Lowell, Mary and Charles Johnson of Bellingham, Patti and the late Vincent Capuano of Blackstone, and Cheryl and David Hanington of Blackstone; a beloved son and his wife, David and Michelle Hanrahan of Milford; a brother, Robert Coleman of FL; a sister, Mildred Bailey of NH; 19 grandchildren, Adam, Wayne, Mark, Jennifer, Michelle, Christopher, Melanie, Thomas, Mike, Bridget, Daniel, Vinny, Crissy, Kate, Joey, Holly, David, Michael, and Gina; 13 great-grandchildren; her Beaumont sister, Katherine Brown; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers Walter and Roy Coleman.

Service Details
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 22, at 9 a.m.
from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton,
with a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church,
17 Winter St., Milford.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cedar St., Milford.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
