Gerard J. Lavergne, 97, of Upton, died late Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Northbridge after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Carolyn M. (Smith) Lavergne, who died in 1974.
Mr. Lavergne was born in Lincoln, RI, the son of the late Napoleon and Alida (Lavasseur) Lavergne, and had lived in Upton most of his life. He was a machine operator at the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale for 35 years, retiring in 1974. A communicant of Holy Angels Church, he was also an avid fisherman.
He leaves one son, Gerald Lavergne of Upton; two daughters, Debbie Lavergne of Upton and Claire Labrie of Holland; seven grandchildren, Linda Lavergne of Northampton, Patricia Gartin of Upton, Sherry Latino of Worcester, Lisa Lavallee of Uxbridge, Todd and Earl Erickson of Upton, and Nicole Labrie of Chicago, IL; and four great-grandchildren, Scott Kennedy of Upton, Meghan Palmer of Chicago, and Mackenzie and Cameron Lavallee of Uxbridge.
Service Details
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 30, 2007
at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, 1 Milford St., Upton.
Following cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family
in Lakeview Cemetery.
