Georges J. Marokhovsky, 90, of Upton, died early Sunday, August 2, 2009 at his home after an illness. He was a retired civil engineer and the husband of the late Hélene (Desvergnes) Marokhovsky.
Mr. Marokhovsky was born March 21, 1919 in the Ukrainian city of Odessa, a son of the late Jean and Claudine Marokhovsky. His family moved to France when he was two and he served with the French Navy during World War II. He lived and worked most of his life in Africa, Asia, and France until retiring and coming to the United States about 26 years ago. He leaves many legacies, especially beautiful paintings that will be cherished by all.
He leaves one son, Serge Marokhovsky and his wife Ly of Upton, with whom he lived; a brother, Dimitri Marokhovsky of France; and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Alexandra "Sasha," and Charles Marokkhovsky, all of Upton.

Service Details
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, from the funeral home at 45 Main Street, Upton, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Milford Street, Upton.
Following cremation, burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
