George F. Straight, 85, of Hopedale and formerly of Upton, died Monday, April 22, 2013 in Genesis of Milford after a brief period of declining health. His wife, Elaine (Crowley) Straight, died in 1981.
Mr. Straight was born in Everett, a son of the late Lovell and Mildred (Gannon) Straight. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served on the USS Shenandoah and was a member of the American Legion. He lived in Upton for over 60 years before moving to Hopedale last year. He worked as a grocery clerk for First National Stores for many years, and owned Straight Ceramics in Upton for over 30 years.
He leaves two daughters, Ellen Benoit and her husband John, and Karen Creasia and her husband Louis, all of Bellingham; two brothers, Robert Straight of Hopkinton and Walter Straight of Upton; his companion Paula; five grandchildren, Shelley Mattson of VA, Holly Gatchell of Blackstone, Randy Benoit of Douglas, Cindy Bisset of CO, and Jennifer Chiappone of Blackstone; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by another daughter, Pamela Straight of Milford who died in 2002, and two brothers, Frederick and William Straight.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27 at 12:30 p.m.
in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton.
Burial with military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery,
North Main Street, Upton.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be from 11:30 a.m.
immediately preceding the funeral on Saturday.
