George E. Osachuk, 84, a longtime Upton resident, died Monday, November 22, 2010 in University of Massachusetts Memorial Healthcare in Worcester after an illness. He was a carpenter at Westboro State Hospital for 19 years, retiring in 1990.
Mr. Osachuk was born in Bellingham, a son of the late Michael and Anna (Fujon) Osachuk. A World War II Army veteran, he served proudly with the Military Police Platoon, 98th Division, in the Pacific. He was a member and Past Commander of the George L. Wood VFW Post in Upton and a member of the American Legion in Marathon, FL.
He leaves two sons, Allan Dean of Upton and Gary Osachuk of SC; a daughter, Cheryl Dean of Upton; one brother, Leon Osachuk of Sandwich; and three grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Olga Platukis and Mary Tumolo.

At his request, a private graveside service with military honors was held
in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton on November 26, 2010.
