Frank R. Nydam, 48, a lifelong Upton resident, died Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in Milford Regional Medical Center after a seven-year battle with brain cancer.
Born in Worcester, the son of Klara B. (Zeh) Nydam, of Upton and the late Robert F. Nydam, he was a 1979 graduate of Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School. He worked as a machinist at several local machine shops until retiring due to illness over a year ago. His passion was playing ice hockey, which he did at Valley Tech and in area men's leagues. He also enjoyed mechanical work on cars, farm equipment, and his motorcycle.
In addition to his mother; he leaves one sister, Patricia Ferguson and her husband, the Rev. Kenneth Ferguson, of Ashford, CT; and two nephews, Aaron Ferguson of Lynn and Bryan Ferguson and his wife Jeanne of Leominster.

Service Details
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home at
45 Main Street, Upton, with his brother-in-law, the Rev. Kenneth Ferguson, officiating.
Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
