UPTON- Fernanda "Nan" (Wneck) Haven, 85, of Upton, died on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of failing health.
Born in Sayreville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George and Madeline (Marek) Wneck.. She was a 1947 graduate of Jersey City Medical Center and in 1956 received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
Nan worked as a registered nurse and was director of nursing at the Kathleen Daniel Nursing Home in Framingham and at the Westborough Nursing Home. She was also the owner of the former Boulder Farm Antiques in Upton.
She was a member of the Jersey City Medical Center Alumni Association, Upton Women's Club, Upton Historical Society, the Women's Guild of Holy Angels Church, the Friends of the Elder Club in Sutton and the Golden Age Club in Sutton.
She is survived by her two children, Patty Haven Johnson and her husband, Eric, of Milwaukee, WI and George B. Haven of Holliston; one sister, Bernice Cockrille of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 5, at 11:00 A.M. in Holy Angels Church, 1 Milford St., Upton. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
A visitation period will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton, prior to the funeral Mass.
