LEICESTER - Evelyn Pearl (Fontaine) Swett, 88, formerly of Springfield and Upton, died Tuesday, August 1, 2006 in Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a period of declining health. She was the widow of William P. Swett, who died in 1992, and had been a resident of The Meadows of Leicester for the past several years.
Mrs. Swett was born in Springfield, a daughter of the late Phillias and Evelina (LaBrecque) Fontaine. She was a stitcher at the Buxton Company in Agawam for many years before retiring and coming to Upton about 25 years ago. While in Upton, she was a communicant of Holy Angels Church and a member of the Upton Senior Set.
She leaves one sister, Doris Jerrold of Arcadia, FL; a brother, Philip Fontaine of Alpharetta, GA; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Kern, and a sister, Irene Fontaine.
Service Details
Funeral services will be held Saturday. August 5, at 10 a.m.
in the funeral home at 45 Main Street, Upton.
Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
