Elizabeth E. Lavergne, 87, of Upton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Milford Regional Medical center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Gerald J. “Sunny” Lavergne, who died in 2015.
Born in Northbridge, she was the daughter of the late Waldo and Beatrice (Oulette) Akeley, and was raised and educated in Douglas where she attended Douglas High School.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Lavergne was employed as a Home Health Aide at many different nursing homes and was a cook/waitress at a local cafe.
She enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards at the Upton Senior Center, she also loved the beach, watching golf and game shows
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Michael Laberque and his spouse Dianne of Texas, Robert Laberque and his spouse Pauline of Douglas, Lydia Laberque of Worcester, Theresa “Terry” Murphey and her spouse Tammy Carsus of Dudley, and James “Jay” Carroll and his spouse Michelle of Northbridge; her step-children Linda, Patty and Sherry; a brother, Archie Akeley of Rhode Island; 28 grandchildren; Jessica, Jacqueline, Samantha, Angela, Danielle, Brittany, Bryan, Cheyenne, Courtney, Veronica, Leana, Lisa, Holly, Amanda, Michelle, Steven, Shawn, Tara, Christine, Kevin, Shawn, Nicole, Sabrina, Vanessalee, James Jr, Morgan; 30 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and two god-children
She is predeceased by two daughters Cynthia and Heather Carroll, two brother, Douglas and Horace Akeley, and a granddaughter Rebecca Laberque.
A celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 5 P.M. on Saturday, November 2, at the George L. Wood Upton VFW, 15 Milford Street, Upton.
