Eleanor F. "Betty" Young

Eleanor "Betty" (Friend) Young, 76, of Upton, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in U. Mass. Memorial Healthcare in Worcester after an illness. She was the wife of William C. Young and a licensed psychologist with Riverside Community Care in Upton.
Dr. Young was born in Aurora, WV, the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie (Forman) Friend. She earned nursing credentials at Capitol City Nursing in Washington, DC; a BS degree at Clark University and an MA degree at Assumption College, both in Worcester; and a Psy.D. from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology in Dedham. She was an outpatient therapist at Riverside for the past 20 years and had previously worked at other human service agencies in the Metrowest and Worcester area. An Upton resident for 48 years, she was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Westboro.
In addition to her husband of 50 years; she leaves a son, Jeffrey Young, and a daughter Leslie Young, both of Upton; and two grandchildren, Denise and Steven Donald of Franklin. Another grandson, Sean Donald, died in January.

Private graveside services will be held in Maplewood Cemetery in Upton

Service Details
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m.in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Westboro, 64 W. Main St., Westboro.
Private graveside services will be held in Maplewood Cemetery in Upton
