Elaine B. Klucken, 88, of Stoneham passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2022, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in Upton. She was the beloved wife to the late Russell Bruce Klucken.
Born in Portsmouth, NH, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Sr. and Blanch (Brownell) Brackett. She spent her childhood in Greenland, NH and later moved with her parents to Sarasota, Florida where she met many new friends and attended high school and college. Elaine was on the high school swim team and joined the Rainbow Girls.
Elaine loved any activity that involved being with others and being in nature. She was always spreading joy. For decades her family spent summers on Lake Winnipesaukee. She spent a few years volunteering for the Stoneham Theater as an usher and worked at many venues preparing and serving food. She loved taking trips to Greenland, NH and enjoyed cooking, sewing, helping people, playing cards, as well as cherishing the time she spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Frank Klucken and his wife Joyce of Brattleboro, VT, and Sue Poirier and her husband Henry III, of Upton; her grandchildren, Sarah Jayne Klucken of New York, and Russell Henry Poirier of Douglas; and dozens of loving nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by a son, Russell Alan Klucken and her seven siblings.
Her funeral service will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, May 7, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main St. Upton.
Calling hours will precede her service from 2 to 4 PM in the funeral home.
Burial will take place privately at a later date at Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
In lieu of flowers in honor of Elaine’s heartfelt way in which she lived life, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
