Edward R. Francis, 86, a 59-year resident of Upton, passed away peacefully Monday, February 3, 2014 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Jessie (Kenney) Francis.
Edward was born in Watertown, a son of the late Paul and Hazel (McGrath) Francis. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1945 and at that time had already signed up for the U.S. Navy. He served in the Navy for 2 1/2 years. He worked as a land surveyor, first in Boston and later in Natick until his retirement.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, he leaves a sister, Katherine Hoyle of Berlin, MD; a sister-in-law, Marion Francis of Uxbridge; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Paul.
