Edna M. (Sansoucie) Furphy, 89, of Upton, died late Monday, November 21, 2016 in St. Camillus Health Center in Whitinsville after an illness. She was the widow of Edward J. Furphy, who died in 2011 after 61 years of marriage.
Mrs. Furphy was born in Northbridge, a daughter of the late Elionel and Laura (Cournoyer) Sansoucie, and was a graduate of Northbridge High School and Worcester State College. She was a postal clerk at the West Upton Post Office for 26 years, retiring in 1987. She had previously been a teacher in Sutton schools and had substituted throughout the area. A communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish and a member of its Ladies Guild, she served on the Upton Council on Aging for 10 years and was a member of the Friends of Upton Elders.
She leaves one son, Paul Furphy and his wife Doreen of Milford; a daughter, Gini Giuliani and her husband Ralph of Dennis; a sister, Dora Boulais of Northbridge; three grandchildren, Erica Giuliani and Jesse and Traci Normandin; and a great-grandson Connor Gossman. She was also the mother of the late Robert Furphy, who died in 1971 at age 7, and Christine Normandin, who died last year; and sister of the late Rene Sansoucie.

Service Details
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 29,
from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton,
with a funeral mass at 11 a.m. in
St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 151 Mendon St., Upton.
Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are prior to the mass
from 9 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
